Darwinian fundamentalists are persecuting teachers, scientists and students who question Darwin.

Across America, the freedom of scientists, teachers, and students to question Darwin is coming under increasing attack by what can only be called Darwinian fundamentalists. These self-appointed defenders of the theory of evolution are waging a malicious campaign to demonize and blacklist anyone who disagrees with them.

  • High school teacher Roger DeHart was driven from his public school simply because he wanted his students to learn about both sides of the scientific debate over Darwinian evolution.

  • Chemistry professor Nancy Bryson lost her job at a state university after she gave a lecture on scientific criticisms of Darwin's theory to a group of honors students.

  • A biology professor at George Mason University was recently banned from teaching her students about the theory of intelligent design.

  • Biology professor P.Z. Myers at the University of Minnesota, for example, has called for "the public firing and humiliation of some teachers" because they question Darwin.

Free speech and academic freedom are cherished principles in America. They are too important to be sacrificed to the intolerant demands of extremists on any issue.

If you support the right of scientists and teachers to speak their mind about evolution, will you help us? Click here to join Discovery Institute. (Free DVD offer for new members!)

Mr. Mooney thinks it is not appropriate to cover “both sides” of a disput . . .example of bias against ID

Here Mr. Mooney’s recommendation for journalistic bias is stated explicitly: In short, Mr. Mooney thinks it is not appropriate to cover “both sides” of a dispute in a truly balanced or objective fashion even if this is “the typical” methodology of journalism. Indeed, he directly suggests that reporters who would employ such balance should not be assigned to report on evolution. According to his view, one side should not be given the same amount of air-time, size of print-space, or numbers of opportunity for rebuttal simply because it goes against the “consensus.” According to Mr. Mooney, such “balancing” isn’t appropriate. Mr. Mooney ends by stating that “the media have a profound responsibility — to the public, and to knowledge itself.” This sounds reasonable, but one would think this responsibility carries with it the duty to inform the public about the arguments promoted by both sides in a balanced fashion, and then let the reader decide. If arguments for evolution are so powerful, then doesn’t Mr. Mooney think they can win the debate?

Having read Mooney's piece linked in the above counterpoint,  time traveler-like I listen . . .  to the denigrating of Galileo's work . . .   directions given to a dictator's journalists. Hold on to the power, the precious ring of
Tolkein.

Radical Muslims almost savor the confrontations

Muslim Anger  Please Offend Me
By Daniel Muniz  Hat tip: National Summary

The Carter administration faced the same problem with the hostages in the American embassy in Tehran Iran. The radical students who were holding our embassy personnel captive spent untold hours each day toiling around in boredom except when the press was ready to shoot footage. And then as if on cue, the students exploded in anger when the cameras were rolling. The media wanted to catch all the inflammatory epithets and incendiary invectives on tape but the moment that the story was over, the students resumed their wretched boredom.

NJ Gay Marriage Ruling Coming Wednesday 10/25/06 : What does your family think?

Tuesday October 24, 2006 9:01 PM

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Gay couples will learn Wednesday whether they will have the right to marry in New Jersey.

Winnie Comfort, a spokeswoman for the state judiciary, said the New Jersey Supreme Court will release its highly anticipated decision in a case brought by seven gay couples who claim the state constitution entitles them to marry.

New Jersey is one of only five states without either a law or a state constitutional amendment blocking same-sex marriage. As a result, advocates on both sides believe New Jersey is more likely than other states to allow gays to wed.

Currently, only Massachusetts allows same-sex marriages.

Families must be protected from the self-centered culture.   This kind of legislation encourages self-centeredness over living for others.  This kind of perversion of family should be stopped at the voting booth.   What do you think?

Be sure to VOTE NOVEMBER 7TH.

CNN under fire over 'terrorist snuff film'

21/10/2006 - 08:45:56
Hat tip: Breaking News

The chairman of the House of Representatives’ Armed Services Committee and two Republican colleagues have asked the Pentagon to remove embedded CNN reporters in Iraq after the network broadcast a video showing snipers targeting American soldiers.

The politicians said showing the footage was tantamount to airing an enemy propaganda film and was described by one as a “terrorist snuff film”.

The tape, which came to the network through contact with an militant leader, was aired on Wednesday night on the programme Anderson Cooper 360 and repeated on Thursday.

In a letter to defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Duncan Hunter, the committee chairman, wrote: “CNN has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier.”  Click here for the rest of the article.

Write CNN and let them know what you think about this way to use our public airways.  Imagine if the US Soldier snuffed was your son.

H.R. 2679, the “Public Expression of Religion Act,” commonly known as PERA

Thank your  representatives for passing  H.R. 2679, the “Public Expression of
Religion Act,” commonly known as PERA.  Unless you are in a Blue State.  For some reason Democrats love the ACLU and support it's attacks on religion.

PERA amends 42 U.S.C. sections 1983 and 1988 to prevent the use of the
legal system in a manner that extorts money from State and local
governments and inhibits their constitutional actions.

PERA  levels the playing field against groups such as the ACLU who have
won millions of dollars in attorney’s fees while extorting state and local
governments into suppressing the religious speech and free exercise of
religion of private individuals, tearing down veterans’ memorials that
happen to have religious symbols on them, removing the Ten Commandments
from public buildings, booting the Boy Scouts off public property, and
blotting out religious symbols from official county seals.

Some of his allies keep a cautious distance from the defiant African archbishop and his clashes with Rome

By Brian Murphy
The Associated Press
Oct 21, 2006)
It would seem that Roman Catholics challenging the ban on married priests have found a leader in Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo.

He has defiantly appeared with his bride from a 2001 wedding where hundreds of couples tied the knot. He stood his ground last month after being excommunicated for installing four married men as bishops.

That is what was said of Martin Luther by the Council of Worms  and of the Sons of Liberty by the Torres.  Go for the  purpose of life Milingo. You are a leader and leader get picked on.  Go for family.  Family is the real sacrament of life, love, and lineage.  The real way to bring peace to society.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Story, Study, VOTE NOVEMBER 7TH TUESDAY

Recently, while visiting Mom we watched Mr. Smith Goes to Washington; the first time for me, after a brisk game of Scrabble. Movies can be great and this one is one of the greatest I now believe. My "favorite movie" Internet profiles will change. This movie IS American Spirit..

Last night my son and I shared the movie again on DVD. It took two weeks to accomplish this feat and worth every repeated invitation.
Now he wants to add it to his "significant movies to share with friends" collection and excitedly drew parallels with our current events.
- A Senator Foley comes to an unexpected termination of his tenure
-Unprincipled power brokers work unfairly to manipulate our representative democratic government's outcomes
-Unscrupulous forces are adapt manipulators of mass media and other means used to sway public opinion
Contact the Media
-A trounced & twisted truth springs back beyond all expectations when watered by the blood, sweat and tears of good men and women..
-America can be a great launching pad for goodness as long as there are good people to jump at the next opportunity regardless of their own personal gain or loss.
Want to tell your rep or senator where to stand on an issue?
